Dear Dialect Friends,

Once again we are releasing a new EP by a brilliant pair of Norwegian talents (more info below). It's seems something is going on over there and we are not finished with Scandinavia, as one of the next Dialect EPs (Dial 012) will come courtesy of Tiger Stripes, hailing from Sweden. He has worked with such labels as Wave, Ibadan, Compost, and he is currently working on his album to be released on King Street. He thought that our label was fresh and we thought his music was cool.
But before that we are pleased to welcome back the infamous duo Quizz feat El Nigno with a track called " The Monster is in town" coming with the two winning remixes from Toby Tobias and Philippe Autuori (to be released in the beginning of November)

Up coming releases and remixes : Rob Mello, Riton, Mongolian Jet Set, Tiger Stripes, Think Twice, Kango Stein Massive, Gwen Maze, Thugfuckers, Lanoiraude, Philippe Autuori...

MTV EUROPE MUSIC AWARDS 2006

The last few months we have been working on the sound design of the next European MTV music awards 2006 that will take place in Coppenhagen. A single version of this crazy track should be released digitally very soon. We will let you know.

ACID CAKE EP TRULZ AND ROBIN

label: DIALECT RECORDINGS
artist: TRULZ AND ROBIN
title: ACID CAKE EP
cat #: DIAL010
Ship. date: 09/10/2006

Hot on the trails of the superb Ost &Kjex EP comes an equally strong set of choons by another winning Norwegian pair – TRULZ & ROBIN !

Trulz & Robin first met in 1996, and have been inseparable since. Their very first 12'' was "release of the week" on Colin Dale's renowned Saturday show on BBC, back in 1999. Their first two albums on Planet Noise « Mechanized World » and « Kaosmatisk » received raving reviews and their infectious technoelectrobreakbeat grooves earned them gigs all over Europe. Pursuing their quest of a warm and deep Acid House gone organic, they released a new album called « Intersexual » in 2004.
It concealed several gems, including « Turn My Head » -picked up by Ivan Smagghe for his "Kill the DJ" compilation- as well as « Crazy Be » and « Acid Cake », that we both licensed from Planet Noise to include on this EP along a hot new exclusive track entitled « Move Yer Ass Guttan » (written by Robin and Swedish mate Johnny Sedin) .

MOVE YER ASS GUTTAN (A1): brand new track and once again a serious dancefloor contender. Driving trippy acidic number taking no prisoner – sweat on the walls as they say….addictive!

CRAZY BE (B1): catchy vocals on a bed of tight electro beats. Dark mean and cold, yet so good.

ACID CAKE (B2): Insidious mid tempo acid groover that will creep up the back of your mind and never leave – totally infectious!

un extrait en écoute dans le mini-mix de novembre (cf. rubrique catalogue et mini-mix de ce forum)

ELEKTROTHERAPY RADIO SHOW: « Favourite Mix : Crazy BE Very much a trashy sounding track here. Sleazy vocals, basic baseline but effective. Something I will play for weeks to come. Early doors track for me just before I take things up a notch. Marks OUT OF 5/4 »
MUGWUMP SESSIONS on SAMURAI FM : Trulz & Robin "Move your ass Gutan" Playlisted
RADIO Z – STEFAN WAGNER : « Thanks for the music, here some feedback : Crazy Be is really kinda datapop hit for the beginning, or ending of the night, some humour and lots of deepness, great voice, will play it audiopets or castrop. Move Yer Ass Guttan : moody, deep and repetitive, great vocal snippets and sounds at all, it´s fun.. already played it in tiefton. Acid Cake : like it, (…) it has lots of drive and again great vocal sounds. In general always great use of voices and a really good release. »

Reviews in :

ONLY FOR DJs : « excellent! les 3 tracks sont mortels et j'ai une préférence pour Crazy Be. » Ludovic Rambaud
CUEMIX MAG : « This piece of cake is so hot, although it's out of the oven for days! The "Acid Cake EP" is the next positive proof that Dialect Recordings always have their eyes and ears open to serve us the best music for the dancefloor.
Now in 2006 a lot of people ask themselves "Do we need Acid?" I say "Definitely yes!" But it must be Acid of a higher level not just the revival of the revival of the revival. Thanks god that there are creative producers out there... like Trulz&Robin. With the three tracks "Move Your Ass Guttan", "Crazy Be" and "Acid Cake" the demonstrate that Acid isn't dead. With a lot of creativity and not just repeating the old 303 themes they wipe the floor with ultra fat sounds "Move Your Ass Guttan" leaves no questions. If you hear that track YOU HAVE TO MOVE YOUR A.. The vocals of "Crazy Be" are winking and intelligent. This track is so sexy and such a cool dance track too. "Acid Cake" combines intelligent Acid with a relaxed atmosphere and gives this EP the special flavour. Please Dialect Records release more material from this talented duo! Best 12" of October. »
